How to choose a flowers.

When I buy real flowers I try to follow a principle of "naturalism": " is not present! " - to cellophane, brilliant tapes and a choice of the seller. I choose itself each flower, not being afraid to prick and wet hands. But sometimes I am mistaken, not knowing all subtleties and cunnings of flower business. But that I know, it is ready to share with you.

At once I shall tell, that sometimes "stability" of a plant depends on a grade of a flower. For example, roses of grade "Bakkara" stand usually enough long, and "Izabel", "Baterfly" - are not present. And frequently we ask a grade of a flower and its durability sellers? And all the same to you will tell, that the flower fresh and will stand long.

If roses, carnations or other flowers at which it is a lot of leaves, are sold in packing - it is necessary to search for a dirty trick.

And on gerbers, anturiums, gladioluses and orchids this rule is not distributed. In most cases they go on sale packed. Besides these flowers do not have leaves (I have in a kind, there are no leaves at sale, instead of in a habitat) which, drying up, spoil appearance.

If on the flower of the same rose different bows or cellophane are stuck is just that plant which in the protogenic kind, most likely, alone will not be sold. Flowers in baskets to buy too "it is dangerous": more often there two - three plants which are unsuitable to sale. If you like a composition, it is better to ask, that a bouquet have made at you.

Floral artists also advise to pay attention to a bud (if for a flower a bud a natural condition, as against camomiles, gerber etc.). If it closed, means, the flower is cut recently off. On the other hand, it is known, that tulips are closed at night. Hence, if to take them some hours per a dark place even after dinner tulips can be sold as fresh flowers.

Besides, buds of a tulip frequently restrain a thin elastic band without which are opened within 30 minutes. One more way: try to compress with fingers a bud (usually it make with roses) hardly above that place where it joins a stalk. If the bud dense to the touch is a good mark.

Many buyers look at a stalk of a rose - on hearings, it should not be dark. But it is not always correct, because if a rose to put in an iron bucket, the stalk will darken at once. Besides, it is possible to cut a stalk from time to time within day, and it will look fresh. And still it is one of parameters.

I remember, when I bought carnations to school teachers, they quite often broke, not having gone through a 10-minute way. Then we used matches. If such trouble has happened to you, try to drive the pointed match or a needle in a stalk in a place of a break and densely to spread on it both broken half. Such flower again will find a packaging but to stand long will not be already exact. To check up durability of a carnation at purchase, take it for the bottom part of a stalk. If the flower dangerously bends under force of an attraction, probability, that it will break or will be bent in a vase, is great. If a carnation it is proud "looks" upwards, despite of your mockeries, all ��.

Be not frightened, if petals of a flower slightly withered or darkened. It testifies that the first petals yet are not torn off, so, the flower is cut off recently or sold after short and qualitative storage. Besides, if the flower was in cellophane, it could be rubed simply. Many sellers break off or cut the darkened leaves to give to a flower a kind of fresher. Therefore look at that place where petals leave from under an external environment - not should be traces are sharp. Not fresh petals can be torn off only at your presence.

Before buy flowers, check stalks of flowers - if they are crushed, they will not drink water. However, they always can be cut off, if you, certainly, be not afraid "to lose" height of a stalk.

By the way... You dream of "one million scarlet roses"? And whether you know, how many money and efforts is required to your admirer to deliver them to you? First, one rose now costs about two dollars, hence, all party of scarlet plants will cost in two million dollars. Even high-ranking oligarches hardly presume to themselves such bouquet. And second, we shall consider: 250 Dutch roses weigh about 15 kg. And the whole one million weighs 60 tons. And where you will keep them?
